In an ongoing effort to best serve its loyal customers, RED Mountain Resort has partnered with Inntopia for online lift ticket sales, directly to the consumer. Inntopia’s cloud-based and industry-leading e-commerce engine is already used by a large number of top ski resorts, tourist destinations and even the world-famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The new RED website www.redresort.com, boasts Inntopia’s Responsive Commerce design, optimizing the experience for online customers, whether they are using a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone.
“For 2014-15, we wanted to give skiers and snowboarders the best deals possible online and Inntopia offered the best platform for us,” explains Fran Richards, VP Marketing, RED Mountain Resort. “We tested a lot of different systems but their e-commerce platform was by far the most modern and intuitive. You shouldn’t have to know C++ or Python computer language to buy an online lift ticket!”
RED Mountain is now handling ALL of its ticket sales directly, with no Internet resellers or other retailers involved. Recent accolades from The New York Times, Telegraph UK, Powder Magazine and Skiing Magazine have positioned RED as the hottest ski resort in Canada and the new Inntopia partnership provides the backbone for increased e-commerce throughout North America and the world.
“Already ranked one of the top places in the world to visit, RED continues to increase its attractiveness as a leading destination,” said Trevor Crist, CEO of Inntopia. “We applaud RED’s commitment to technology, ensuring that customers can book with ease and flexibility, and are excited to partner on these efforts. Here’s to a superb winter season ahead.”
“Levi’s, Nike, Adidas…so many of the world’s cutting-edge companies are selling directly to their customers online and it’s a model that makes perfect sense for us as we enter a period of unprecedented growth,” says Richards. “We believe that the next generation of skiers and snowboarders will buy their lift tickets and trips this way more and more often and we’re always looking for ways to stay innovative and approachable. Make it easy and they will come…”
Aside from the intuitive interface, ease of use, and stable back-end technology, advance lift tickets for RED Mountain purchased from the new Inntopia interface retain their value. So, if a skier buys tickets for a certain date at a discount online, he or she can still show up at a later date and put the amount spent toward a full-price lift ticket at RED, paying only the difference with no penalties, fees or cash grabs.
“People get sick. They sleep in, miss planes, get grounded or have to go on tour,” adds Richards. “If they’ve spent money with us online we will honor it in person. And that’s a promise.”
RED Mountain Resort:
RED Mountain is located in Rossland, BC, along Canada’s famous Powder Highway. RED delivers 2,877 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment. In 2013-14, the resort added nearly 1,000 acres of mostly-intermediate terrain on Grey Mountain, making RED yet more family-friendly and uncrowded. With 300″/7.6m of annual snowfall, wide-open groomed runs, epic vertical (2,919ft/890m!), in-bounds cat-skiing, 360 degree descents off select peaks, a rich tradition, and the best tree runs on earth, it’s no wonder The NY Times voted it their #8 “Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013.” RED’s other recent accolades include #1 in Powder‘s “Ski Town Throwdown,” and “Most Underrated Resort” by Skiing.
