Commerce
There’s a lot of talk in the industry about using online sales and responsive design to enhance user experience and search engine optimization, especially as mobile usage continues to skyrocket. And coming from a company that is dedicated to our partners’ success, it’s simple: going responsive increases online revenue. Based on a comparison of the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 data, Inntopia partners using Responsive Commerce experienced an average increase in online sales of over 30%!
To give some context, we now know that in general, consumers spend more time today shopping on mobile devices than on desktop computers. According to Forrester Research, US mobile commerce in travel and food services is expected to hit $54 billion in 2016 and $75 billion by 2018.
In a recent report published by Phocuswright that looked at 2014 travel habits, smartphones and tablets are now tipping the scales for travel planning and booking. And 58% feel comfortable making bookings on mobile devices using stored payment information—which tells us that this behavior can no longer be ignored by travel providers.
Last fall, Inntopia began outreach to switch our partners from the original ‘V9’ internet booking engine to the Inntopia Responsive Commerce system. We analyzed data over the past six months for more than a dozen of our partners that made the transition and the results were phenomenal. I’ll say it again: we discovered an over 30% increase in online revenue!
With all the benefits of Inntopia Responsive Commerce, it’s not a surprise that partners were able to improve conversions and grow their online bookings. Currently, nearly half of all Inntopia partners are taking advantage of Responsive Commerce and more are moving over every day. Don’t be shy if you want to find out more, we’re excited to share our results and are ready to help you make the transition today.
