Pascale: Let’s start with the basics. Name, location, and family.
Jesse: My name is Jesse George. I was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica and now live with my wife and two kids in Waterbury, VT.
Pascale: What were you up to before you became an Inntopian?
Jesse: I worked for a resort named Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, VT. I was the Resort Experience Manager.
Pascale: How long have you been working at Inntopia?
Jesse: About 2 ½ years.
Pascale: Any non-work activities you love?
Jesse: Two activities that I really enjoyed while growing up were playing baseball and ski racing. Two very different sports but both offered something that made me stronger. Baseball was about the team and playing a game I loved while developing relationships with my friends. Ski racing was about looking in the mirror and finding strength from within. You’re all alone at the starting gate. In life we find moments where we need to persevere both with others and when you’re by yourself.
Pascale: Speaking of sports, you’re involved in some community sports as well?
Jesse: Yeah, this past summer I volunteered to participate in our Youth Rugby Clinic program. We ran a summer series where we invited kids from surrounding areas to take part in a progression of clinics which focused on skills, culture, and community.
Pascale: Where do you draw inspiration?
Jesse: I’ve had many inspirations in my life but one person stands out. I grew up studying Martial Science and I read many books written by the late Bruce Lee. His writing focused on the physical and mental aspects of daily life. His teachings from a distance gave me a good example of what it means to be successful and how to achieve goals. My favorite quote by him is:
This is the way I choose to live my life.
Pascale: Thanksgiving was a few weeks ago, anything you’re especially thankful for?
Jesse: I am thankful for my wife. She is the light that I couldn’t see until I met her. She makes me feel a part of something greater than myself. She accepts me for who I am. This is a concept that should be mirrored throughout our planet. Acceptance.
