The effects of the COVID-19 virus on our industry have been very challenging these days, but know that the Inntopia Team is there to assist in every way that we can. In this series, we introduce you to some of the valuable people who keep the wheels turning for our team, and for our partners.
Christine Veliko, Frontline Technical Service Representative
Christine is witty, adventurous, fun, and hard-working. She is also the self-appointed party planner of the Stowe office. Leave it to her to schedule a cook out, a ski afternoon, or an after-work get together. All will agree that she has one of the most charismatic personalities, in person, and over the phone.
Pascale: Give us a little background about yourself.
Christine: I have been at Inntopia for two years. Before Inntopia, I spent six years working at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, VT. I spent three years as a Food and Beverage Manager and then finished off my final years as the Guest Services Manager. I live in Morristown, VT (a short four-mile commute to the Stowe office).
Pascale: Who is your main inspiration and why?
Christine: My mother! She always encouraged me to live life to the fullest and passed along the best advice: “Be sure to travel, laugh hard, and play even harder, try new things, family first, don’t sweat the small stuff, ALWAYS write a thank you note, NEVER wear jeans to an interview, and balance your checkbook.”
Pascale: Growing up, what sports, activities, or past times occupied most of your time? Favorite sports team, and why?
Christine: I grew up on a dead-end dirt road in Vermont. Back in those days (when you were running the 40’ dial-up cord to the phone jack two rooms away) it was ingrained to play and explore outside with the neighborhood gang. We grew up playing kickball, capture the flag, stealing dad’s tools to build forts…this is when I developed my love for sports and team comradery. I grew up playing soccer, gymnastics, swimming, snowboarding, and lacrosse. Favorite sports team is the one and only NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!
Pascale: Do you have kids?
Christine: I have two boys, Rhys and Corbin. They were both born no more than a week early, but both born on full moons and just after midnight. Also a shout out to my two fur babies, Mia and Lyle!
Pascale: Tell us something unique about yourself that most people don’t know.
Christine: I played the alto saxophone up through college and LOVE country music!
Pascale: What are your hopes for the future?
Christine: To enjoy life’s simple things, remain grateful, and continue to build a better future for the next generation.
