Our mission is simple: help resorts sell everything their guests need from every system in a single interface. Now, that’s one thing when you’re selling the more common products you see at these destinations – rooms, tee-times, tickets, spa, etc. – but when you consider all the unique ways resorts sell the long tail of products – kayak rentals, archery lessons, etc. – it means that unless we continue to add new features that match the needs of those products, we can’t deliver on that mission.
A new Inntopia Commerce feature is another small, but important, bit of innovation in that regard.
Products in an inventory pool share inventory, so if one product is booked, inventory for all products in the pool is decreased.
For Example
Let’s say that you sell tickets to an activity and there is a cap of 100 tickets per day. But you also have tiers of tickets for adults, seniors, and children. An inventory pool allows you place all those tiers in the same pool. Then, if someone buys one child ticket, this feature will decrease inventory for all tickets in that pool to 99.
Products in a time-based inventory pool share inventory even if they have overlapping times.
For Example
Imagine you have 10 kayaks available to rent with morning, afternoon, and full day options. If someone books a full day rental from within a time-based inventory pool, the inventory for both morning and afternoon rentals will drop to 9. If someone books just a morning rental, morning and full day inventory will go to 9 while afternoon remains at 10.
