About our Panel:
Barb Taylor Carpender, CMM, CHSC, CAO. Barb is the founder of Taylored Alliances and, in addition to having a wide breadth of expertise in destination travel, is an expert in trade associations, conferences, and DMO structure. With a clear understanding of the inter-relationships between not only industry peers but also their independent funding and governmental partners, Barb brings a perspective that is critical to destination travel. By luck, she’s also an engaging moderator and we’re glad she’s back to lead the way and offer her insights.
Pete Comeau, Managing Director, Phocuswright. Responsible for all aspects of Phocuswright operations, including research and publication, Pete has a deep understanding of not only travel industry trends from the supply side, but consumer trends on the demand side. His role at Phocuswright puts him at the epicenter of technological developments, and his contextual resources through Phocuswire editorial and content ensures that Pete’s perspective is balanced, up-to-date, and on the cutting edge.
Jan Freitag, National Director of Hospitality Analytics, the CoStar Group. Jan is a global industry leader in travel and hospitality trends and data, and has been with CoStar since their 2019 acquisition of STR – where he established his reputation as a thought leader in hospitality research. Often cited in the global media and a sought-after speaker, Jan brings a world-wide and national perspective to the data, and his firm understanding of hotel finance and acquisition adds a crucial level of context to his analysis.
