Software Sales / Business Development Representative

Inntopia (inntopia.com) is a rapidly growing, privately held company located in the picturesque town of Stowe, Vermont. Inntopia is a leading provider of travel technology and services to Resorts, Destination Marketing Organizations, Central Reservation Agencies, Activity Providers, Web Portals and other Travel Suppliers, Aggregators, and Resellers.

Description/Job Mission Statement

The sales professional is responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through to close in an assigned territory or product category. They develop and implement agreed upon sales plan, which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the designated marketing area. The salesperson works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals, in line with the company mission, vision and values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospect for leads in our product-market segments.
  • Conduct cold calls to prospective clients and set appointments.
  • Qualify prospects per sales plan, budget, and internal selection criteria.
  • Complete understanding of pricing, proposal models, features and functionality of comprehensive software system.
  • Offer products and services to qualified clients through demos and face-to-face meetings.
  • Manage sales process from prospecting through close.
  • Prepare and staff tradeshows and conferences and represent company professionally.
  • Build and document sales activities in company CRM software (Salesforce currently).
  • Prepare and engage in business development team status meetings.
  • Engage in educational meetings on product development and updates.
  • Coordinate with management team to enhance sales presentation.
  • Meet productivity metrics as per management team’s directions.
  • Manage customer presentation, quotes, RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Focus on all product-markets and manage key relationships with prospects.
  • Run demos for prospects, develop presentations, and adapt sales collateral.
  • Run live and web-based presentations.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships with high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Exceptional selling skills from lead generation through closing
  • Strong technical problem solving, writing, and verbal skills
  • Solid understanding of software sales
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Enthusiasm in accepting challenging sales goals, and ability to achieve them
  • 2-5 years of sales experience in the travel, software industry or both.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of customer, market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.

  • BA/BS required. MBA preferred.
  • Sales training in SPIN selling or similar consultative selling process a plus.
