Opening Sales Development Representative

Remote / Stowe, VT

Inntopia ( is a rapidly growing, privately held company located in the picturesque town of Stowe, Vermont. Inntopia is a leading provider of travel technology and services to Resorts, Destination Marketing Organizations, Central Reservation Agencies, Activity Providers, Web Portals and other Travel Suppliers, Aggregators, and Resellers.

Description/Job Mission Statement

The Sales Development Representative is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling activities. The right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, thinks out-of-the-box, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and is highly self-motivated. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a company’s needs and cater the outreach to each prospect specifically. This person works within the sales team and will adhere to the company mission, vision, and values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for educating and developing prospects leading to hand-off to sales teams
  • Create target prospects lists and penetrate key accounts
  • Cold call into prospects generated by variety of outside sources and software systems
  • Identify key players, researching and obtaining business requirements, and presenting solutions to begin sales cycle
  • Profile strategic accounts identifying key individuals, researching, and obtaining business requirements and presenting solutions to start the sales cycle
  • Set appointments for sales team when a lead reaches a qualified stage
  • Nurture new marketing leads by educating and developing prospects until they are ready to speak with a sales rep
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing team members on strategic sales approach
  • Ensure successful follow through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application (currently Salesforce)
  • Prepare for and engage in team status meetings
  • Engage in educational meetings on product development and updates
  • Meet productivity metrics as per management team’s directions
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

  • Strong technical problem solving, writing, and verbal skills
  • Enthusiasm in accepting challenging sales goals, and ability to achieve them
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions
  • Strong understanding of customer, market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work with a distributed team of professionals
  • Proven ability to achieve quotas

  • Willing and able to learn new skills as required
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • BA/BS required
  • Sales training in SPIN selling or similar consultative selling process a plus
