As many of you have heard, the folks at Ryan Solutions challenged us to a Fitbit competition! For the month of June, we competed to see which company could travel the length between our offices first. The losing team will send the winning team four cases of their favorite local beer. In addition, $250 will be donated to a foundation chosen by the winning company. Inntopia will be donating to POW (Protect Our Winters) and Ryan Solutions will be donating to The Chill Foundation. Ryan Solutions helped us out by sending some “fuel” over at the beginning of June.
What we didn’t know was that Hostess had to recall 710,000 cases of snacks after realizing they were contaminated with peanut residue. It didn’t end up helping as much as we would have liked…
Thankfully, Leslie ended up healing quickly and continued to compete in our Fitbit competition!
Ryan Solutions held a small lead over Inntopia during week one.
But we picked up the pace and started to close the gap during week two.
But a rainy weekend in VT caused us to fall further behind coming into week three.
We thought about different ways to log steps. Tie our Fitbits to our dogs? Attach them to our ceiling fans? The Wall Street Journal’s article on how to cheat our Fitbits gave us plenty of ideas. Alas, as Craig says, we stick to our core values. There will be no cheating within this company!
Ryan Solutions continued to extend their lead over Inntopia coming into week four.
Unfortunately, Inntopia lost by a mere 150 miles. Craig says “Congratulations to all the Ryan athletes. It was a very impressive performance. We had a great time, and even though we didn’t quite reach the top of the podium this time, we are all in much better shape for the effort. Be on the look-out for your spoils of victory.” Everyone wins from this friendly challenge! We get moving, we have fun, and most importantly a non-profit will get a check.
