Big groups have been a vital part of the ski industry for years. Resorts love group business because it tends to be planned and confirmed far in advance, and it sometimes fills in off-peak and mid-week demand. Plus, the groups show up even if the snow isn’t quite epic.
Wholesalers and tour operators spend a lot of time and energy building relationships with ski resorts so that they can offer compelling rates and packages to their groups, and provide them with an above-average ski trip.
Wouldn’t it be great if those same wholesalers, who have been working hard to improve the ski vacation for groups for so long, could offer exclusive rates and packages and a similar level of service to individuals and families traveling alone?
Ski Daddy thought so. They’re a Texas-based wholesaler that organizes more than 200 group trips each year to resorts in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. And starting very soon (launch day is imminent but TBD) they’ll be using the Inntopia Commerce platform to offer exclusive rates and packages to anyone who makes it to skidaddy.com.
At launch, Winter Park, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, and Copper will all be managing inventory, rates, and packages for sale to Ski Daddy customers through the Inntopia Commerce supplier interface. Changes will immediately become live on Ski Daddy’s site.
They’re pretty excited about it, as they should be. And, there are more wholesalers on the way. We can’t wait to see how responsive the skiing public is to booking their ski vacations through these very customer-service-oriented companies.
Welcome aboard, Mike and crew. We’re glad to have you.
