Tour operator and wholesaler, Ski Daddy, has partnered with Inntopia to sell lodging, lift tickets, and other activities, thus expanding their target market and making their sales operations more efficient.
Ski Daddy is a travel wholesaler that coordinates over 200 group ski trips each year to resorts in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico.
“We get a lot of referrals, and quite a bit of search traffic,” said Ski Daddy owner, Mike DiLeo. “We’d like to be able to target those people that aren’t necessarily traveling with a group, and Inntopia is the key piece of technology we needed to make that happen.”
Currently, Ski Daddy books group travel directly through partner resorts. This works well for large groups, as it allows them to offer pricing and services that travelers can’t find on their own. But it is not as efficient for smaller groups, such as a family of four traveling together.
With Inntopia, Ski Daddy will allow partner resorts—Winter Park, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, and Copper at launch—to manage inventory, pricing, and packaging for Ski Daddy directly through Inntopia’s supplier dashboard. Travelers will then be able to book travel at exclusive Ski Daddy rates without leaving skidaddy.com.
“Our business is weather dependent, and one thing you see is that when group business is strong, the FIT [individual] side lags, and vice versa. We see this as not only an expansion into a new part of the market, but also as a way to diversify so that we can succeed and grow even when demand is fluctuating across those segments,” said DiLeo.
Ski Daddy is one of several group-travel wholesalers and tour operators to have recently partnered with Inntopia to let them sell travel to non-group customers more easily.
