Inntopia Expands to Europe

Premier Travel Reservation Platform Provider Opens European Headquarters in Zürich Area; Makes Key Hire.

Inntopia, the leading provider of advanced reservation systems to the North American snow sports industry, has opened an office in Zürich, Switzerland to serve as its base for expansion into the European market.

“We are pleased to formally establish ourselves in Switzerland,” says Trevor Crist, Inntopia CEO. “There is a clear need for our innovative solutions in the European mountain destinations, and Switzerland is the ideal location for our European headquarters.”

Michael Meier has been appointed European Director. Mr. Meier is responsible for marketing and sales, project management, software support, and garnering strategic partnerships throughout Europe. The Swiss native brings with him a wealth of experience in Swiss tourism, having spent the last seven years as Director of the Tourism Board of Chur, capital city of the Swiss canton of Graubunden. In addition to his role in Chur, Mr. Meier also served as a board member and Vice President at the Cooperation of Swiss Cities. Mr. Meier holds an MBA from the University of Applied Sciences Zürich.

This marks Inntopia’s second major move into international markets. Recently, the company announced Thredbo as the first major Australian mountain resort to adopt the Inntopia platform. The company is in advanced discussions with several European destinations, and expects to announce European clients soon.

The Inntopia system is the leading advanced reservation platform for the snow sports industry, powering ski resorts, tour operators, and travel suppliers. The Inntopia platform also gives agents access to popular summer activities and attractions in these same mountain destinations. Whitewater rafting, zip line treks, golf, fishing guides, and mountain biking are just a sample of the available options.

Travel providers manage their rates and availability directly in the Inntopia system, or connect through one of the many Property Management and Point of Sale interfaces available. Agent commissions are processed by Inntopia as well, through their own commission clearing house.
