Technical Writer

Description

Inntopia, a fast-growing software company specializing in reservation software for the hospitality industry, is seeking an entry-level technical writer to assist with writing web-based release notes and feature documentation. Qualified candidates must have a college degree or certificate in professional writing and/or technical communication from a certified learning institution.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, write, and publish web-based end-user documentation and release notes for both new and existing features for our various software suites
  • Proofread and edit written material from co-workers including Marketing and other departments
  • Update existing documentation in conjunction with software updates
  • Create and send client-facing email blasts to communicate software deployments and release notes
  • Adhere to a strict delivery schedule and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Coordinate documentation needs with members of Engineering department including QA, engineers, product managers, and product owners
  • Maintain high-quality writing standards in both internal and client-facing written communications

Software Skills

  • Madcap Flare
  • Microsoft Word
  • HTML, CSS, Mediawiki knowledge a plus

  • Ability to work independently and proactively with little management oversight
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Agile software development method a plus
